Through the Looking Glass

The background, we did not conquer. The foreground, we did. Simon and I took an early morning excursion down to the Canada Maltage Silos on the Lachine canal. Our attempts to get in were futile; however, there were other vacancies in the vicinity. This shot was taken from inside an abandoned garage, kitty-corner the silos. Smells like a future condo project to me!
On a side note, the building is considered a heritage site, because it contains the only standing terracotta silos in North America. Who knew?

Working-Class Meets Yuppy

I quite enjoy the juxtaposition of these two buildings. It's very much how the neighbourhood feels to me, both in terms of residents and architecture: industrial working-class vs. modern yuppies/guppies.
